Redwoods Treehouse Restaurant

The sort of treehouse we all dreamt about as children... was a restaurant.

The Redwoods Treehouse Restaurant in Auckland, New Zealand delivers fine dining in a stunning natural environment.  The chrysalis-shaped treehouse reaches 40m from the ground at its peak.

The restaurant is a striking pod-shaped structure built ten metres high in a redwood tree near Warkworth, north of Auckland. Access to the Treehouse is provided by an elevated tree-top walkway. Parts of the walkway are built using redwood milled on site. The vertical fins and slats are built from sustainably grown pine and poplar.

The restaurant operated from December 2008 to February 2009 as part of a Yellow advertising campaign.

At the conclusion of the campaign, ownership of the Treehouse passed to the landowner. They are now in the process of obtaining a resource consent to use the venue for private/corporate functions and events, rather than as a restaurant. The Treehouse seats 30 guests or can accommodate 50 guests standing for less formal gatherings.
